History since 1256, old vines and a Pombaline landmark.
Old vines over 90 years old, younger vineyards around 40 years old, parcels between 50 and 250 metres of altitude and both east- and west-facing exposure summarize the potential of Quinta dos Frades.
Formerly known as Quinta da Folgosa, the estate's history dates back at least to 1256. A Pombaline landmark remains on the property, witnessing its place in the first demarcation of the Douro region.
